McFly will almost certainly feature.

They'll probably just use a different McFly single to make up for All About You.
I suppose Madonna will be up for, seeing as there is all the hype around her at the moment.

Sorry I thought they were setting standards this year...

I'm more interested in how they handle the fake 'let's go the regions' bit this year. It was a complete joke in 04, with presenters switching alternate sides of the screen with a different ITV1 logo on the plasma each time.

Any sort of regional TV Forum interest is long gone. I actually think what you are thinking of is 2003.

It's never been right either since they switched to the Eurovision style marking system for just the top five (or is it three) songs!

Was much better when they just used the total number of votes instead!

Was it really that long ago? My mistake Confused . What did they do last year, just read out the results in the main studio one by one? Could have sworn I remember seeing the new stacked version of the ITV1 logo with regional names.

That's exactly what I was thinking of, thanks Smile Every region was located in that small purple sparkly set.

I agree that it's a shame that votes aren't counted, and instead they use points. I suppose it's so that big regions like Central don't decide the result, though I still believe that it's more fair.

As long as they started with the smallest regions though.

I don't understand why they're not using Cat Deeley this year though, unless it's her choice.

Denise Van Outen lasted a few years, then one year of Ant & Dec, onto Cat Deeley and now ITV's new aim for hottest talent, Vernon Kay.

I wonder whether we could see them airing it right at the end of the year, New Year's Eve is a Saturday after all!

Record of the Year: Final Countdown is on Saturday 26th November, so it looks like it will be at the same time as it is every year
