I agree, apart from Mark, he is nice

What? Mark has the most boring and featurless face in the world.

Mind you talking of ugly boybands - I've just seen East 17 for the first time in ages on The Hits and they were just wierd looking.

I like Mark, he's not the best looking person in the world but I wouldnt say no Wink. I dont really like any of the others in Westlife, I cant stand Shane either.

Missed most of ‘record of the year’ last night, but watching it on ITV2 now. I do not like Westlife and I hate the song 'Mandy'. The only on I can remotely stomach is 'Bop Bop baby’ or whatever it is, and I don’t think Westlife would have won if Will Young was there.

Anyway, as long as that BOY Gareth Gates did not get a chance of winning this year so that’s one good thing!!

Didn't see the show - but was he quite "posh"?

If so he may have been the Giles that used to present a show on "The Dating Channel" - who I think has popped up doing the odd show on late night ITV1 ?

Giles Vickers-Jones!! Yes, Him from the Dating Channel and also on The Dating channel 2 (Now called Gaydate TV). He also does those 'ITV at the festivals' on late night TV too.
I can’t believe Granada got Darrel Olson again! He’s not bad but there are more desirable Granada Folk in mind who would have been better.

I think Record of the Year is not as good as the first 2 years when Denise did it. It had the regions more 'Out there' where as now they may as well just have a 10 minute show with Cat counting down the top 3.

I am disapointed it wasnt Daniel who won - he deserved it more than Westlife AGAIN! And their song has only been in the charts a few weeks so how can they say its record of the year.

Noticed it was Gethin Jones who gave the results for Wales and West and he said "Noswaith Da" to everyone Very Happy , im glad it was someone from Wales not the West.

Also noticed they called Westcountry, Carlton West - surely it would have been easier just to say Westcountry, people may have confused Carlton West with HTV West.

I was hoping that Daniel would win aswell... an original song written by the artist and sung live. The complete oppposite of Westlife's cover which they mimed Evil or Very Mad. I couldn't believe that!
Is Gethin Jones one of the two guys on S4C's "Uned 5"?

I also hoped Daniel Bedingfield would win as he had composed and written the song and performed it live aswell. (Westlife cant say yes to any of those criteria)

The Westlife song has only been in the charts maybe two weeks maximum and so HOW/WHY was it allowed to be entered into this award show?????

It makes a totally mockery of the show and is now deemed totally meaningless.

I will not be watching next year as another fix unfolds!

PS where was Coldplay-Clocks in the preceedings?

Tyler was the one from the allSTARS. They had a show on CiTV (with a few airings on SM:tv) called STARStreet. Where they lived in a great house, which would have made a great set for CiTV. It was made by Carlton if I'm not mistaken.

Jean Anderson (Grampian), Ollie (Tyne Tees) & Amy Garcia (Yorkshire) are all presenters on the Disney Channel's STUDIO Disney. Leah Charles (Central) presents CiTV from Birmingham (didn't she also do this last year, Stephen Mulhern has also done it for Central).

Ashley (I think she was Scottish TV) was the other person from UKool along with Jean.

I think it was agreed amongst quite a few that this year was sort of a fix, allowing that stupid song of westlifes to be entered was beyond belief.
In my opinion i would have rather seen daniel or black eye whatever they're called than them or that weird busted 'we're too cool for you' s*** pop c*** Evil or Very Mad
They want more a thoro selection process for this next year so we don't see a repeat of what happened this year. Exclamation

The whole thing is such a farce. I saw Simon Cowell saying "The ROTY is THE award to win", and it was obvious to me that he was lying through his teeth.

Well it is in the sense that it's voted for by the general public and not some faceless panel of judges. However, that's not to say that the general public, or the type of people who the ROTY appeal to are the best judge when it comes to these matters.

However, I don't agree that it's a fix, that arguments easy to trot out when a result is played out that somebody doesn't like. It's the people who are voting that are plain wrong. Laughing

Well unless they announce that teenage girls can't vote, it'll be this sort of situation every time. The fact is that there was a viewers vote and the most viewers voted for Westlife!

Though as we've all said, Westlife shouldn't have been in the running in the first place! The song has only been in the chart 3 weeks, it wouldn't have even been out when it ROTY was compiled. Someone from BMG is slipping money into the pcokets of ROTY's producers.
