A reality betting scam which has seen one gang net over £100,000 has been exposed.
The gang are believed to have been working with an insider, who as the votes closed informed them who was set to go (or win) by text, with them then making bets online ahead of the result being announced just minutes later. Big Brother, I'm a Celebrity, The X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing all affected.
The nature of the scam though means that in this case votes should not be affected - as bets were placed on the actual results.
However, I've always questioned why bookmakers would allow people to bet on shows where they can affect the outcome by placing a sufficient number of votes.
