REAL Digital is a new and exciting Digital Satellite TV & Radio platform that will provide you with more HD content and greater channel choice, all at affordable prices.

No false claims, just honest, clear, and simple pricing AND the freedom to add new services such as Sports channels when and only for the period that YOU want them.

Our new service has now launched in the UK with a single tuner and PVR model. Our service has initially launched with the REAL Basics package, which includes up to 400 channels with at least 5 in HD as well as other great free benefits. We are working hard on our pay package which we expect to announce details soon as well as other launches including REAL Digital in Ireland.

Digital Satellite? Who do they think they're kidding? BSkyB has that market cornered!

You've obviously never heard of Freesat.

Freesat isn't really that popular. Most people either get Sky or Virgin, or just get Freeview. Sky is dominating digital satellite by a country mile, and for TV at all, only Freeview comes close to having the same number of users.

As far as I can tell, their aim is to be the satellite equivalent of Top Up TV, they'll offer the Freesat channels and then a small number of subscription channels (which as far as I can tell would amount to little more than Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2, which Ofcom oblige BSkyB to offer wholesale). They also want to offer the Irish terrestrials in Ireland, but RTÉ won't play ball because of (a) the rights issues and (b) their deal with BSkyB.

The idea of another DTH satellite pay-TV provider getting off the ground from scratch. is not really practicable - Virgin Media and UPC are the only real challengers. Sky will always offer a better deal IMO.

Won't be anything like 400 channels then. More like half that.
