Not a bad idea to have a regular thread - so often the ratings throw up something mildly interesting, but it wouldn't be worth a new thread.

And with ITV1 and C4's new schedules for the winter, there are developments to keep an eye on.

Selected figures:

C4's latest chicken killer programme, this time with Jamie Oliver, got 3.8m on Friday. Their food season so far has been rating pretty much as well as Celeb BB last year.

Moving Wallpaper and Echo Beach losing a million+ viewers each on Friday, down from 5m to 3.8m and 3.5m respectively. From what people here say it's actually not as crap as it sounded, so is it the classic Friday night scheduling problem?

Corrie: 10.6m / 9.9m in it's Friday slots, EastEnders 10.3m

Saturday:

Casualty v ER: 7.3m v 900,000 - not surprising really!

Harry Hill: 5.6m
Primeval: 5.7m (peak 5.9m)
Millionaire 5.2m
Thank God You're Here 2.9m

Harry Potter on ITV1 in the afternoon got 3.2m, compared to 1.9m for Shaun of the Dead at 10pm.

The One and Only obviously isn't named after it's viewing figures as 5.2m (4.8m for results) have no taste in television!

Sunday:

ITV1:
Dancing on Ice: 8.9m (peak 9.9m) - results 7.7m
Heartbeat: 7.7m
Kingdom: 5.4m - which sounds quite down on last year

BBC1:
Lark Rise to Candleford: 6.7m
Sense and Sensibility: 6.1m

BBC2:
Top Gear: 3.3m
Louis Theroux Behind Bars: 5.3m
Match of the Day: 3.4m

BBC3:
Two Pints Live - 806,000 + 291,000 watching the repeat - the shows highest BBC3 rating

Last night's 9pm figures:

BBC1: Motorway Cops - 6.3m (rising from 5.4m to 7.1m over the hour, not bad for a filler)
BBC2: Signs - 2.1m
ITV1: The Palace - 4.3m (falling from 5m to 3.8m over the hour - disappointing for what is probably ITV's flagship drama of it's new schedule)
C4: City of Vice - 2.7m (surprisingly high IMO - recent dramas however good have struggled to get more than 1.5m or so)
FIve: Derailed - 1m

How do BBC1 manage to show such a cheap filler like this on a Monday in january and end up with over 6 million viewers?

Why on earth have Channel 4 moved ER to Saturday evenings at 8pm?

For one, surely they'd have to cut scenes from it sometimes, being on at that time. And secondly, it's not going to get very high viewing figures.

Well nothing gets the figures for C4 at the weekend at the moment. You would think though with only half the amount of episodes as usual, they'd be room to play out series in the 10pm slot.

ER though is rumoured to be heading towards the axe in America though, if not this year probably within the next couple.

Ramseys Kitchen Nightmares USA fills the Wed 10pm slot for nine weeks now until Desperate Housewives returns.

Disappointing figures for The Palace. It was excellent and deserved more than that.

I was thinking that although I said that the pres should be left alone, it's fine, I'm changing my mind. I do still agree that it's fine and look good (though the music could be a lot better), but it should have been changed with the new schedule. While it remains, it will still be associated with the old schedule - and if a new set was brought in, they could have called it the 'new look', and done lots of nice promos and so on with it.

At what point in a programme do they take the reading? Beacause as above you can see PEEK written...just wondering when the actual number was read. Also, are there any websites where you can get this information?

Thanks,
