No, it's far better to refuse to work Fridays in the first place.
By the way, how IS drivetime going nowadays on wireless two?

keeping his job after a no show for work due to being too drunk is hardly a good example to set the young

I believe young Mr Evans is doing quiet well. He always fairs better on radio than TV. Bit like Wogan I guess.
People will get used to him. They have to. The BBC will not budge or be forced to change their DJ's just because the licence paying public don't like them. Gone are those days where the BBC took any notice of its audience. You have Chris Moyles on Radio 1 and Chris Evans on Radio 2. Like it or go elsewhere!

That it the most snobby thing i've probably ever read.
You're the one with problems if you hate someone because they're average at something.
I'm not particularly a Moyles fan btw,- so am not 'sticking up for him' so to speak, I just had to comment..

Good point. I hate him because he's rubbish, not for anything else

More interesting is the news that the EMF (European Media Forum I think!) says the BBC should be forced to sell off Radio 1 and Radio 2, saying as they are mainly music, they are not a public service station and are hampering commercial rivals. They reckon they would sell for £500m.
I've said for a while I think they should be commercial (as Radio 1 seems to have as many ads than it's commercial rivals already!) - though I'd go the route of making BBC Radio a not-for-profit corporation like Channel 4.

Chris and his team are hilarious, although I never get time to listen to the actual show. I think this will probably end up on the unofficial site.

oh yes, i bet the commercial radio groups would love to share the finite amount advertisers have to spend between their existing stations and 2 absolutely massive stations. that would do wonders for profits.
