The radio pages have always been like that (well not always but for at least about 10 years)

It must be, and have been, different in different areas of England then, as we only started to go as far afield as Norfolk for radio when the South/South West/West combined edition started in april 2005. Up to then, Thames Valley and Solent were about as far east as we got.

As to the price, £1 sems a damn good deal.

Or as others would call it, a rip off! Wink

I like the new digital pages but the main channels pages are a missed opportunity....that "evening planner" thing for the main digital channels is a waste of space, they should have used the opportunity to move the regional variations back to the evening pages and given daytime the space it always used to have. As it stands you now have the same information printed twice...

I like the new radio pages but again, Radio 1 gets squeezed...seems to happen with every re-design and oh look, a nice big picture at the bottom of the column just to rub it in!

I suppose the £1 mark is quite symbolic but it is still excellent value compared to TV Times, which is what 5p cheaper? And for that you get listings like "6.00 Children's Programmes, 12.00 See Hear" etc.

Radio 1 hasn't really been squeezed much - in fact nothing on the Radio pages has been squeezed much which is quite remarkable considering they've added so many stations.

I agree about the missed opportunity - and a shame that not all Freeview channels are grouped together. Most are together, but you still have to turn over the page for UKTV History/Bright Ideas/BBC Parliament and the Kids Channels.

But it's certainly the best there is. I like the new music/sport/lifestlyle pages too.

£1 isnt bad as the Radio Times is far superior to the other tv guides with their tv listings. Radio Times always have detailed descriptions for programmes, cast list of the cast actually in that episode, the newsreaders and weather presenters for each bulletin etc.

Other tv guides such as TV Times and TV Guide arent that much less than £1. I got TV Guide today for my bf as he likes Sean Gallagher from Corrie who was on the cover so I know it costs 98p. Wink

I agree. What's the point of having that 'digital at a glance' bit when the main digital channels are shown in detail on the next page. They should have moved the regional variations back to the evening spread, especially as most variations occur during the evening

Also Film 4 is listed twice. I expect the one on the main freeview page is just a place holder so when the next new channel launches that can be dropped

I do also wonder why they pick the digital channels that they do. Sky Arts and Performance have a viewing share of 0%, whereas they miss out channels like Cartoon Network, Nick Toons and Challenge

I agree that it is a lot better and certainly don't mind paying the extra, however:

- I don't see why we need Film4 listed twice. Why not leave it with ITV2/3/4, BBC3/4 etc. and introduce channels such as True Movies/Movies24 etc. to the Film pages and try and boost their viewership, many don't even know those channels exist.

- Even though I like the fact that they have dedicated more room to the existing channels previously listed, I thought they would introduce some more channels into the listings. Wheres the extra Sports channels that were promised for instance?

- Thumbs up to the new Lifestyle/Sport/Music pages.
