Network Z is in the pipeline, I've not heard too much about it though. I don't think it's due to launch till next year.
Apparently it starts in August, although invariably it'll probably slip to the autumn.

BBC (Radio) 6 Music is Network Y - album tracks and archive material - starting 11th March (reportedly).
At last, a BBC station worth listening to!

Yes, I'm looking forward to it too - in fact, I'm splashing out on a DAB radio, so it had better be good! Pity information about it is so vague at the moment. All I know so far is that Tom Robinson expects to be doing the 7-10pm slot, and Bob Harris and Gideon Coe (ex-GLR) will also be presenting.

And not forgetting that Gideon Coe is not only ex-GLR, he is also ex-News 24, as he was one of News 24s presenters at launch...
BBC 6 Music has today apparently started test transmissions on DAB, and the website is now up and running at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music.

I wonder if that logo was designed by Lambie Narin:P:
I notice it isn't in the same style & has the word Radio Missing

Been listening to the test transmissions, and the station is to be known simply as BBC 6 Music rather than BBC Radio 6 Music. But that logo certainly looks as uncorporate as it can! This never would have happened a couple of years ago - it would have been |B|B|C| 6 MUSIC all in Gill Sans!
Anyway, the new station sounds good so far - starts 7.00am on 11th March.

I suppose what with digital using slightly different technology, the DAB services aren't *technically* radio are they? Also it opens all sorts of possibilities and tie-ins - you could have a BBC 6 Music TV channel one day perhaps?- or at least a similarly branded TV show - on at 6pm maybe?!?!
