This does not seem that much of a story but the alleged wages in article are something which seem a little gross. Why do they need to pay Terry - as good as he maybe at his job £800,000! Also disclosed is Chris Evan's pay slip of £540,000 - a man who has failed in the past and now is paid vast sums of money for a few hours a day on the radio!

At a time when the BBC is making massive cuts is this right. It would be good to hear some views of fellow forumers.

It has to be said that these figures are leaked and the BBC are declining to comment on the source of the leak.

And, um, why are people like Kerplunk being paid £500K per annum for THEIR job?

Davina got £280,000 for her chat show - though her Big Brother fee would dwarf that!

What really annoys me is the likes of Graham Norton who got a "Golden Handcuffs" deal with the BBC yet didn't host anything really for the first year of it!

The cast of Eastenders & Radio1 DJ's salaries (Chris Moyles is on £630,000!) were also leaked last week prompting an internal investigation - which obviously hasn't done much good thus far.

Davina's £280,000 pay packet was recently labled “the worst value for money in telly history.”

And so the argument of justifying the licence fee rears it head again - and rightly so. It's shocking we pay these people such ludicrous amounts of money. Rolling Eyes Something has to be done.

I don't think anyone would care about Radio 3, but I'm guessing we'll get the figures for Radio 4 (Humphreys et al) next week, and Five Live the week after.

Imagine how it must feel for those whose salaries have been disclosed to see what their colleagues (often working fewer hours) are earning.

Well the Radio1 Djs were apparently furious. They've been banned from talking about it - but most have made thinly disguised references which suggest they're not happy. Scott Mills (one of the lowest paid - yet most popular) posted a drunken entry in his online blog which made his feelings about the whole thing quite clear - it was deleted the next morning. Laughing

Ah, does this explain why a lot of the cast of EE are deciding to leave all of a sudden?

Confused Probably not...but you never know.

How many 'failed' radio shows has Chris Evans had? I can't remember any.
If all presenters who had been involved in a 'failed' programme wasn't employable again, then there'd be no presenters at all

And there I was watching News24 this morning as Simon McCoy grilled Patricia Hewitt and demanded why GPs were getting £250 000 per annum, even though he gets a comfortable salary like that anyway.

How much you reckon he is paid then? Not £250,000 surely. How many news anchors have they got at NEWS 24 and not forgetting Huw, Fiona, etc. who would get vast amounts more! Forgive me for going off the subject. (I seem to remember when Trevor McDonald was at ITV he was one around £650,000 a year - I think) And as for Hewitt - well, she should go back to Australia.
