Real. Why would it be a practice? Live on air? What a STRANGE idea.

Well if it was a fire, how did they come back on so smoothly and easily?

Fire alarms can be legitimately activated for a number of reasons - water supplies being turned off can trigger them, burning toast in the staff kitchen etc etc. They can also be set off in error.

You don't half ask some silly questions. Just think it through first.

Just because I want to know something that no one else would ask, doesn't make it silly.

No it does make you silly. Do you not have a smoke detector in your house... ever set that off with burnt toast or something.

Smoke detectors can also be set off with a large amount of aeresol spray in the room when aimed at the detector.

Oh! Clever You! Well how do I know it was set off by something like that?

You don't. The point was that a fire alarm isn't necessarily triggered by a fire, as you had assumed in your earlier post.

There's nothing wrong with your logic, but perhaps you've never had to trudge into the car park for a false alarm before.

You mean by something resembling smoke? You're right. That IS a silly conclusion to expect you to leap to.

Oh for god's sake. Is everyone having a nark at me just because I asked a "silly" question?
