you'd be leaning back whilst doing a link? Not had a look at the R1 webcam lately but I think it would be a hell of a stretch back from the desk to the wall anyway

If he was dancing around like the report says then maybe.

Although I think he just said that for comic effect

Did the alarm affect Radio 2, 3 etc. or do they broadcast in different areas?

When the bell went off, I'm not sure who it is, but he says "Get Up Everybody..." or something. Was that phrase "related" to the event?

Also, for people on Pay As You Go contracts trying to listen to the Radio 1 Listen Again feature, immediately when the playing stars, quickly hit ">>15 mins" 8 times, then ">>5mins) twice. A song (that I know, but can't name it) will just about to end. Then it goes off. Sorry if you already know this.

Just like to tell you that I am working on a montage of the events. I'll soon post it.

Different areas - as far as I know Radio 1 is from Yalding House, 2 and 3 are in Broadcasting House, 4 and 5Live would both have been from TV Centre at that time of day, but 4 is usually in BH unless it's a news programme

OH! Bloody hell, at first I just heard 12 seconds. I've just downloaded it now, and the only new thing I've captured is the part after the news: If anyone wants it, ask me.

I'll ask once I can understand what you're talking about

Radio 2 sounded like it was just playing from a backup as Mr Wogan didn't speak between 2 of the songs... but that could have just been for the sake of it.

In many quarters that's considered a good thing!

I have asked this before, but I want a simple straight forward, one word answer:

Was The Fire Alarm:

Real?
Practice?
Fault?

Real. Why would it be a practice? Live on air? What a STRANGE idea.
