Which brings me to my burning (albeit anoraky
) question - does each presenter have their own set of cartwall pages that cannot be accessed by anyone else apart from them, the producers and the tech ops, or is everything shared so everyone with access to the system can browse and play what they want? So, for example, if Moyles wanted to, could he play some Scott Mills jingles/sweepers/idents on air?
Yes - and Moyles has done in the past.
When Mills used to do the very unfunny Celebrity Phonecall calls, he put the audio clips of each celeb to use in the calls in his cartwall.
One morning Moyles found the ones of Simon Cowell, and preceded to have a Cowell conversation with Dom Byrne out of the news.
As I understand it, you need a password to gain access to the DIRA system at Radio One, but once in you can play anything that's available from the cartwall from any presenters, show or day page.
