Jo Whiley's having troubles in a new studio this morning. Looking at the webcam it seems the same as the main Moyles/Mills studio. Is it the same or is it that Radio 1's other studio has been updated?
Where are Radio 1 now, have they moved into the refitted BH or are they still in Yalding House?
They're still in Yalding House, and will be for a few years yet. They are currently going through a period of updating the studios one by one. Not sure whether Jo Whiley's studio is new or if she has had to move. But I've just had a look on the webcam and she appears to be on the phone looking for technical help!
It's the one that Moyles and gang used to be in last year, when it was old and taken off air for a refit.
Although looking virtually identical, you can tell the new studio from the old as new one has a window down the side, and the door is in a different position.
You can see that from the pictures below (taken from Wednesday last week with some balding chap in shot; obviously they hadn't let her loose on the new gear, yet): -

Yes indeed. It seems fairly strange the Yalding House studios are being refitted if their days are numbered... I thought they were moving to BH in a couple of years time, but the time they have left must justify a refit.
I haven't heard anything about Radio 1 moving into BH. Seems unlikely due to the refit and the fact that Radio 2 and 6Music are currently moving out of BH.
The finished Broadcasting House is still many years away, whether there is any room for the 4 popular music stations to move in remains to be seen

Yeah, I've not heard anything either. Indeed, traditionally R1 has been separate from the other national stations...
Roight! Sorry for dragging this thread up again.. What i have to ask doesn't warrant a new thread.
Any of you lot members of the radio 1 website ? If so, how long did you have to wait for an email to allow you to post on their message boards?
Are they a bit slow at BBCR1?...
