How wonderful it was to see Greg Scott back on ITV1 last night.
One of this country's most talent, under-used, under-rated, and under-paid presenters, it can surely only be a matter of time before he lands a major prime-time game-show.
It doesn't matter anyway, because Corrie is increasingly out-of-date and is not a fair representation of life in 21st century Britain at all. In fact, I'm ashamed that Corrie is exported around the world. They must all assume that the British people must live in grubby cobbled backstreets and we all have intolerable northern accents.
I really do think Corrie's days are numbered. ITV is increasingly p*ssing away it's best assets in return for making a quick buck with the likes of QM, The Mint etc.
In 10-20 years time ITV will be either 100 times worse than it is now, or it simply won't exist. I suspect both will happen in quick sucession in around a decade from now.
Well from the bit I saw, it appeared to be another night of confusion for the numptys ringing the wrong programme last night.
Quizmania were referring to the 'new' number once again, and that 'this isnt' the Mint'.
The Mint continued to get calls for the Quizmania game, and so started to ask people at the start of the call which show they were watching. They referred to Debbie's game over on our 'sister programme' Quizmania.
Brian even asked somebody if they were watching The Mint, the caller indicated they were, and then proceeded to give an answer for the Quizmania game.
How stupid are these people ? Are they just visually or mentally impaired ?

Had to laugh at poor old Mr. Cooper last night who proceeded to give his address in Undy out more than once on air. ou'd think people who watch these shows would have a fair idea of how it worked.

Not a fair representataion of life in the 21st Century. Have you ever been to the North West, or more specifically City of Salford where the programme is set - Cobbled streets are the normal, people do tend to have a northern accent (due tot the fact that it is in the north!!!), but do not forget that the north just does not have 1 accent (unlike the East End) we have Scouse, Manc, Lancastrian, Tyke (all the different Yorkshire accents) etc...
The old North is more part of today's life than of any other time. The first modern computer invented at Manchester University, the very first passenger railway operated between Manchester and Liverpool. If it wasn't for the brains and the working class of the north would Manchester had ever been the very first industrial trading city of the world, long before London caught on to the fact??????
The North West was, and is still, open to new ideas, new ways of thinking and of openess - thriving minority communities - there may well be some racial tension but not as much as there is down south near the capital.
Let's put it this way if it wasn't for the North West would we have long running soap operas, such as Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks, etc.... - a big bold move by Bernstein's Granada (a very different company to what it is today) - but still it is only Granaa that is still in existance of all the ITV companies in England and Wales - another NorthWest success from Yesteryear and still around today!!!
People in the north, in fact of the whole country, should be proud of the northern heritage and what it has given to the world and it does just goes to show that the North's yesteryear is still thriving in todays very PC, nanny-state of a country
Why shouldn't Coronation Street be exported to many nations - its just as embrrasing about a way of life just as Eastenders is of the East End and Hollyoaks is of the Cheshire set around Chester and the Yorkshire fold of Emmerdale is of Leeds and its surrounding areas.

Thank you.
Greg Scott.
I'm getting a feeling of deja vue here, haven't I read this self promoting stuff somewhere else?
Haven't you got a PR to do this sort of stuff for you?

Just because he chooses to post on the forum, doesn't mean he's "promoting".

I agree he is free to post on this forum so far as I know but I have seen this exact same post on another forum and due to its content call it self promotion.
