both QM and The Mint don't seem to take more than around 30 calls each in a 4 hour slot.

That figure can't be right. It's more like 30 calls per hour.

yeah especially during the speed rounds and the double/triple money rounds on Quizmania - they do seem to take a call every 2 minutes or so.

Right so Quizmania has now finished in favour of The Mint broadcasting on ITV Play, ITV1 and ITV2 ?

Read the thread. Quizmania now broadcasts Friday, Saturday and Sunday night on ITV1, and during the day on ITV Play.

It does seem a bit pointless to have The Mint being simulcast on three channels ...

Yeah, my point was The Mint being simulcast on 3 channels, oh well.

You said Quizmania has finished, it hasn't. It's back tomorrow on ITV Play, and Friday on ITV1.

I meant, finished tonight... oh I don't care, stop being picky. Laughing

It's still very strange that after the best part of a year, you can't see Quizmania at this time of night.

Well they have potentially 3 times the audience then, don't they?
So to me it seems to be an obvious finance-driven scheduling ploy.

Well that's not true at all because the same number of people who watch ITV1 don't watch ITV2 and they certainly don't watch ITV Play. Surely simulcasting it on ITV1 and ITV Play is enough. I don't see how it could be finance-driven because if they put something else on ITV2 (like err for instance Quizmania) then they could actually make more money by having two phone-in competitions on the go at once.

Me thinks somebody in authority has decided that Quizmania is oversaturated as it is (today alone it will have taken up 7hrs and 10 mins of ITV Play's schedule - 3pm-6pm and 9pm-1:10am) and that to run it any longer would be overkill, hence The Mint instead overnight. Or maybe even staffing issues decree that it's not possible to run overnight. The same crew members seem to appear every single shift on every single day.
