Is it just me or is this going to fall flat on it's face? Laughing

I don't see how people are going to once again fall into the trap of phone-in late night quizes. Have we not got past this phase on television? If we haven't... then we should have!!!

Anyway, thought I'd open it's return up for discussion, see what we think etc.

Mixed feelings.. I loved Quizmania because it was entertaining, but after it went, the genre became dirty to the point we had the phone in scandals.

This is going to be a spectacular failure. I could see it being a remote success if they managed to get an obscure channel number on Sky or managed to get on five/Virgin 1 but because its going to be on the internet its not going to do so well. Any success will be because of the name because Quizmania was a successful brand. Another brand which was successful was The Mint and it didn't just have phone in competitions. They could easily relaunch that show as some form of entertainment show because it did have some following.

The phone in quiz TV bubble has well and truly burst because these shows are practically non existent now, the novelty has just worn off.

Interesting how Greg & Debbie won't be there.

Greg's announced via his website he's decided not to be part of it...

I think the 'quiz TV bubble' has rather burst since it initially ended, notably ITV Play no longer exists as a channel. I wonder which channel it will be retuning on, and how successful it'll be. Incidentally there are some set building photos online at...

Crikey they really are starting again from scratch.. Sorry guys but the time has long passed.

Unless they rebrand it as Pokermania or Bingomania and find a suitable channel on Sky they have no chance.

I can't believe that Quizcall is still hanging on late nights on Five. Shocked Talk about flogging a dead horse.

Wow, that's an awful lot of work for something they're going to be dismantling within the month! Very Happy

Also, do you think anyone is actually THAT excited about getting a seat at the "pre-launch" party? It's not exactly the return of The Big Breakfast or anything is it! Laughing

No to be fair I think the only reason people will initially tune in is for some strange form of nostalgia, now that the phone-in bubble no longer exsists really. If it survives any longer than it's initial 4 week run, then it'll be purely down to the creators being too stubborn to admit defeat.
