Bearing in mind we have no idea what The Mint will offer, is it reasonable to assume that itv think it will be better than Quizmania? ie hence moving QM to itv2?

Quizmania has definitely done something, because i work at a Media College, and some of our students have signed a petition to keep Quizmania on ITV1. So keep it! They like Greggles a lot too.
Something definately needs to happen to get Quizmania back on ITV1. Its Friday night/Saturday morning and QM are only offering the average £1000 with occasional bonuses of £500 and the 'key' jackpot game. The show also now has ad-breaks.
Well that ended odd. We just had an hour with Kirsty Duffy (previously off Cruel Winter and Quiz TV) and she kept announcing there would be a new game coming up - this was at about ten past 3! The show finished at 3.30 (as scheduled) with Kirsty saying "The next game is coming up..."
Out of curiosity - because I'm rarely up at that time of the night and the only time I see Quizmania is when I stagger in at 3am on a Saturday morning - what happens or has happened when the start time on the SMG channels is different from ITV1? Do the presenters of Quizmania or The Mint welcome viewers in Scotland, or does SMG just crash in cack-handedly 10 minutes in.

Well on the first night of The Mint, they just crashed straight in. Someone could at least have told them to be quiet for 3 seconds and welcome viewers to the show.

Me too - its nice to have another region for a change. They appeared to have problems with the first night of The Mint on ITV London though - the picture was frozen for a while, this could have just been on NTL though.

Did'nt get to see it last night - work commitments. But I noticed in the schedules for Scottish/Grampian last night that it was scheduled to start alonside the rest of the Channel 3 network. Did SMG show any ITV Play idents/logos prior to the start of the programme?
P.S - On the subject of "regional introductions", did'nt Debbie King welcome viewers to Quizmania from HTV(!!!) Wales one night?
Was flipping between the two at the time - ITV1 showed their ITV Play ident, while SMG showed a regular celebrity ident. There doesn't appear to be any Play identification up here, and adverts from ITV Play that are shown down south aren't broadcast here either.
On audio description - I've yet to hear that being used on any ITV1 programme yet. Any idea when it comes into effect?
