Ah, a fire alarm. I bet they'll be soaked!
Has anyone thought to record the backing music, that's playing?
EDIT: Of all the things they could've used to fill the gap... ITV Sport Classics!?

It was me! I torched the studios to force ITV to show through-the-night Nightscreen...
The lack of on-screen activity is poor. If this was any other live broadcast, the CA would give us regular updates and, by now, a standby programme would be on air.
STOP PRESS: ITV1 ident and recorded apology into standby programme, ITV Sport Classics.

Ner ner ner ner ner. I stopped the press before you.
I know what you mean about the lack of apology etc, but surely if the fire alarm goes off there's nobody to do it?

And now QM is back, after a short ident (in the wrong aspect ratio).
It's all very well having a joke, but they shouldn't have wasted time on Greg's makeup, either.

AHA! Roll your eyes all you want, dear friend... it was done in 60 seconds while we were liaising with ITV presentation about getting the show back on the air.
I will not sleep 'til you say sorry.
Or give me £26.

So, was it a twilight fire drill, a false alarm, or a genuine emergency that caused alarm bells to ring? Enquiring minds (with
nowt else better to do at nearly 05:40 in the morning) need to know! Or, ist thou not at liberty to say what really happened?
(Edited twice for a couple early hours of morning, can hardly sleep, typos!)

Genuine fire - Car in underground car park - Fully ablaze - Total evacuation - Allowed to re-enter building after 30 mins - Nod from ITV when to start up again - Back on air.

How old was that ITV Sports Classic? It had the ITV logo from the early 90's when some of the regions took that generic ITV logo.
