This announcement has appeared on quiztelly.com :

Quizmania fans across the nation can now breath a collective sigh of relief, Quizmania will continue on ITV Play, Weekdays 7.30pm - 1.30am from 4th September.

Good news, so rather than axing it like people assumed, they are actually moving it to the prime slot, meaning people will no longer have to stay up stupidly late to watch it

Presumably this will mean the Rover's Return Pub Quiz/Quiz Night and/or The Common Room will be axed

But for these quiz channels - this isn't primetime, as the prizes offered demonstrate. I saw quizmanina on in the afternoon the other day and the prize was a £100. Far from the £30,000 tower games they have overnight.

What would you rather watch in the evening? A proper comedy, drama or film or travel down to the 800's of the Sky EPG to watch QM?

I'd say prime time for a quiz channel would be around 10pm-1am, i.e, after the main programmes have finished, when you get in from the pub etc. Quizmania will have this slot

There can't be that many people watching TV at 3.30am

Is there any significance to why QM will start at 7.30, maybe the Rovers will run up to the start of Corrie now, rather than starting after it?

You are comparing ITV Play/Men & Motors with ITV 1. Of course the money will be lower on the non-terestrial channels.

I certainly watch Quizmania more than I watch films or dramas. Most films are just not my thing. To answer your question though, I would just prefer to have the choice and luckily for everyone, we all have that choice.

If ITV are looking to save money, why spend more on another flaming quiz programme!

Um, just a stab in the dark, but maybe because they generate millions of pounds of profit?

If only they'd put the money into quality programming! And I don't mean Love Island...

6am- Playalong
2pm- Rovers Return Pub Quiz
3pm- This Morning Puzzlebook [simulcast (sp?) on M&M]

Think those timings are a little out, This Morning's Puzzle Book will be on for 3 hours. Extra Mint returnings to ITV Play on weekend afternoons.

i thought that too, surely if they were to simulcast Puzzle Book then it would be 3 hours because surely it will into something over on Men & Motors?

Isn't this the schedule:

04.00 - Playalong
12.00 - Rovers Return Pub Quiz
15.00 - This Morning Puzzle Book
18.00 - Friends Reunited: The Common Room
19.30 - Quizmania
01.30 - The Mint

Lee's on now, Greggles up at 3am-ish... make the most of it. Don't think I'll bother with QM when it moves fully to ITV Play.

Are you sure they didn't say "Quiz Call"?
