Greggles is not back until Friday night, just so you know.
Also who's the other Quiz mania presenter that's gone over to Play DJ?

I was wondering about the studio- I dont think its self op. The presenter does there own sound effects, et last night greg appologised to 'sound' after he shouted. But the levels are bad sometimes with the mix of background music, sound effects and presenter.
I think it is just a tiny converted studio with a couple of remote cameras- maybe Big Brother style ones- not full studio cameras?

I was quite impressed by the presenting of Greggles and Nigel Mitchell on Play DJ last night. On Monday I believe Nigel announced that Play DJ Late would be on for the next three weeks. Could this mean that there is something else in the pipeline?

I mentioned this a few pages back, apparently the deal is only good for 240hrs over December 2006 and January 2007. Unless it's been secretly renewed.
The Two way TV games it uses as content are all 4:3 so it can't really be widescreen.
Play DJ went out widescreen when it started, but it took two weeks for anybody to notice that the games were looking squashed. So instead of pillarboxing Buzzwords and co, somebody thought it would be a good idea to run the entire programme in 4:3. So now while the games look correct, the entire programme now has a claustrophobic feel to it.

Wasn't it mentioned recently that the deal between Two Way TV and ITV Play would be ending soon? If that's the
case, then it's probably only a matter of time before the Play DJ format gradually turns into "Quizmania Lite" ... !

Why is it that Play DJ looks as if it's broadcasting from a webcam?
Surely they can afford to get a cheap widescreen camera set up in there.

And of course the studio was designed for widescreen. I miss seeing the wall with the clock!!
Not putting the games in a box seems strange to me... I always thought they should do it with Playalong. It would solve the current, bizarre problem nicely...
TV: Games are fine, idents look squashed
Online: Idents are fine, games look stretched

The online feed is fixed for widescreen whatever is being transmitted. Therefore Play DJ suffers from squashyvision.
Strange really, the two idents that go out between every game of Buzz/Iz/Space on PlayAlong are aired tall and thin (on TV anyway). There doesn't appear to be 4:3 versions of ITV Play Idents.

They are quite right to be worried about a back-lash as QM was the best of the genre and they just got rid of it. It's not just this forum that is/has been talking about its demise and the stupidity of ITV to remove it

It's really baffling that the presenters are censored from saying Quizmania on Play DJ. The presenter was just talking about a song she found that's related to Fergal the Shark which featured as a mascot on Quizmania.
Strange policy there. ITV must be worried about a backlash.

The problem is ITV Execs scratch their heads trying to figure out why they are losing their audience, then axe the programmes that most people like. Ok so these quiz programmes aren't very popular but Quizmania definately stood out from the bunch
