I have been watching Quiz TV since it came on Telewest
And am shocked that they are allowed to rip viewers off like this.
There are using bizzare puzzles with absurd answers to them.
I have phoned twice in 5 minutes when I was non the wiser and got that unsuccesfull message.
But yet the presenter is stood there acting as if no one is ringing and it is costing 70p a go

From what I've gathered, there's loads of channels like this. They're all con artists really, but unfortuantly I think they're operating within the law.

Questions are like...

Quote:
Mrs Puggy Wuggy has a square cut punt.
Not a punt cut square,
Just a square cut punt.
It's round in the stern and blunt in the front.
Mrs Puggy Wuggy has a square cut punt.

How many square cut punts did Mrs Puggy Wuggy's husband take to the car-boot sale last Friday?

**** like this.. they don't even explain the answers.

Don't moan here. Well, you can if you like but it won't do any good. Complain to OFCOM, and if enough people do then perhaps they'll do something about them.

The questions may as well always be "what number are we thinking of?". The correct answer will be found once they have decided they want to find it.

EDIT: Has something odd happened? This is my post (Mark's!) , but it's appearing above as belonging to "the best of the box". Confused

I'm surprised Carryl who used to do Challenge is associated with this shhitt, this is clearly a ripoff channel, this sort of channel has been on the continent for donkeys particularly Germany.

There was a thread discussing this a few weeks back. I contacted OFCOM then, they weren't interested - said it was not within their remit, which I find quite unbelievable. If they can dictate the rules of other TV phone-in competitions, why can't they stop these con-tv channels operating?

Big Game TV is just like this. Hosted by ex-shopping telly presenters who pretend to be so happy with their job and totally oblivious to any guesses that have already been said. Rolling Eyes They have also started doing the silly riddle questions i.e. How Many Bears? in which is insulting to the viewer. They also have the cheek to con the viewer into phoning yet they don't answer etc.

Big blip the other night. There was a Big Personality in which you have to guess the person ("world famous, you would know this TV presenter, actor musician etc") by only an eye etc. They cut to another £20 quickfire question but in doing so someone pressed the wrong button and revealed the Personality answer - Ann Widdecombe. Possibly done on purpose.

It could be I suppose. OFCOM only suggested complaining direct to the TV company though - like that would do any good Rolling Eyes

They had one puzzle where it ran almost all night, right up to about 1am...and never revealed the answer. I guess that means they can now bring the puzzle back another time.

At least with QuizTV you can allegedley enter on the web rather than via a 70p phone call

Aparently OFCOM have only just taken over responsibility for these complaints.... they've got loads already so try again
