a bit surprised no1 has brought this up put the participation quiz channel Quiz Call has closed. unfortunately wikipedia is the only place i can find extra info on this matter so i am relying on them but Quiz Call has definitely disappeared from the Sky EPG. according to wikipedia it is to reappear as a quiz show on five/fiveLife/fiveUS. there was talk in another thread about Quiz Call appearing on five but there was no mention of the actual channel closing.
Someone has put a montage of answer reveals up on Youtube
12 Quiz Call Solutions Very obscure answers and crappy props using blutack
So obscure I'm surprised anybody actually enters these games. It's this sort of montage becoming widely seen that will hopefully make people realise what small chance they have of winning anything.
Hopefully we will see the end of quiz channels soon. Perhaps then we can also go back to proper 24-hour TV on the 5 main channels.
Basically, "wake up and see the phone bill - it's a rip-off!"

I don't want to stick up for ANY quiz tv channel as they are all very similar and can be a rip-off.
BUT
It seems that since ITV Play has come onto the scene the other quiz channels have struggled so much so that their quizzes became much more difficult and it was a catch 22 situation where they HAD to make them harder to earn more revenue from less people and thus the harder they got the less people that rung up etc etc.
This whole scenario could be blamed on the 'successful' ITV Play but I feel that's a bit unfair. When watching ITV Play (especially when Greggles was on it) I felt the questions were at the right level of difficulty and phone calls were continually taken with loads of people winning some sort of prize. I havent watched ITV Play for a few weeks now but when I did watch I didn't feel as if I was being conned as much as the other quiz tv channels.
Those 12 answers revealed on the YouTube video goes to show the ridiculous lengths some quiz tv channels goto - of course some of the answers are going to be easy and maybe one or two hard ones - but when the majority were totally unfathomable answers the viewers will lose confidence in that channel and eventually it will fail. Its a shame but I feel it was their own doing!
