Names like Gabby Logan and Dan Walker are safe, BBC faces and I can see why people are guessing they’ll be in line for the job. If Sue was just leaving of her own accord and nothing else was changing, yes they’d be a good bet. But I’d be
very
surprised (and annoyed TBH) if they’ve axed Sue to replace her with someone just as BBC and “safe”. If they really are shaking up the programme, and have given Sue the boot in order to give the programme a new start, the host (and captains) need to be fresh and different to what’s gone before.
Not too fussed about the two team captains being swapped out to be honest, but anyone guessing that both replacements will be white, middle class men are misreading the current diversity climate.
I can see Isa Guha being in with a shout as host - helps build her profile on the BBC as they look to build up their cricket coverage, etc.
Yes, that’s the name I’ve been thinking of. The only thing I’m not sure about is whether she’s covering cricket down under for a good few months of the year.
Dion Dublin would be my guess for one of the team captains as he seems to be a regular on it and he’s a face the BBC have been trying to push in recent years. On the other hand, they might want someone younger.
Someone mentioned Nicola Adams earlier, but I think she might be a bit shy for this kind of show. I guess we’ll see how she does on Strictly before making any judgements on that though.
Not Ore Oduba, please! Only just getting over his omnipresence for the past couple of years since his Strictly win.
Don’t understand this hate for Ore. I think he’s a very capable and likeable presenter. I also don’t think he’s done that much apart from a gameshow and the occasional cover shift on This Morning and The One Show.

Chappers is the obvious choice if they want to create something similar to the NFL Show and was good hosting it on 5 Live however I can't see him doing it unless he drops one of his many commitments of Radio 5 Live, MOTD2, NFL Show or Rugby League. Jermaine Jenas could be one and I do reckon a women could be involved and if so Sam Quek would be my choice.

I believe she worked for Fox Cricket the last few years so unsure she would be available.

That is the team I was going to tip too.
Sue has now issued a statement confirming it wasn't her choice to leave.

If they want to take it younger and make it more diverse Alex Scott as presenter and Nicola Adams as one of the captains would make sense. Not sure Sam Quek would be the best choice as captain as there's only so much hockey that they could realistically include considering its limited popularity and they seem to like to focus on the sports the captains were involved in.

It seems Sam Quek has been involved in the broadcasting of a lot different sports is a presenter on 606, she also has trials with Tranmere Rovers so I would say her background wouldn’t be an issue and they might even consider her as a host.
