OK I apologise if this has been mentioned before, but what the hell is up with Emmerdale and its sponsors? In the past two or three weeks the sponsors have been changing from Air Wick to Veet like a bloody yo-yo!!

Do they both sponsor it, like on a week-on-week-off basis? Or is this just a repeated cock-up?

Air Wick and Veet are owned by the same company, who just chooses which brand to advertise which week

In some areas it was Air Wick, in others it was Calgon. Still the same though- owned by Reckitt Benickster. Not the case any more though.

I was just looking at Broadcast and noticed that Emmerdale has suffered a great deal in the ratings due to the World Cup scheduling.

Last Friday's episode only got 3.63 million and just 2.46m in Multichannel homes Shocked

I never expected it was gonna be this low, for a show that gets 8 million this is bad. Shocked

Well, I have to say, I'm not surprised. 10pm is a ridculous time to show Emmerdale full stop. In fact the other night I got quite p*ssed off with it. They've stuck it on at that time every night since the football started, even when there isn't a match on ITV1 in an evening.

Seems to me that ITV1 enjoy making a balls of the schedule at the moment.

IMO they have lost the plot, just what is going on at ITV these days?

There's also the fact that the BBC have been showing EastEnders quite a bit at 7pm. They don't usually go head to head unless there's a specific special episode being aired, so they wouldn't have been able to use the 7pm slot even when no football was being shown
