Did anyone see this last night... The BBC's first live drama in 20 years.

I thought it was really good.

DAMN! I really wanted to see that. Cannot believe I missed it.

Are they repeating it? Won't have the same effect i know not being live, but i'd still like to see it.

It was really good. As far as I know, there are no plans to repeat it.

There were only a couple of moments where someone slipped up on their dialogue, but although this was a bit odd, everyone does it in normal speech, we've just become accustomed to thinking people never slip over a line...

There was quite a lot of outdoor stuff, and I'm interested to know if that was live too... I think it probably was.

For me, the only bit that failed was the ending which could have done with some special effects... somehow seemed kind of flat because it depended on your imagination for that bit.

Overall, really good to watch. Knowing that it was live gave it an extra bit of energy.

I think it is being repeated on Wednesday 6th April.

Caught the end of it and into the next programme there was a (clipped) announcement basically saying they'd finished early and so were including an extra programme.

Was this a late change, a mistake or just shorter than what had been listed in TV guides?

The liveness of it does give it a bit of energy yes, but at the same time it does distract. I remember watching the live episodes of The Bill and Coronation Street and could not concentrate on the storyline itself because i was nervous of the fact that they might screw up. Weird i know, but there you go.

I didn't catch that announcement. It is listed as being on for 2 hours in the Radio Times, but last night the EPG said it was due to finish at 10.00 (i.e. 1h40).

Perhaps they realised that it wasn't as long as planned when they started rehearsing... or perhaps they cut some lines. It is also listed for two hours on Wednesday.

So was it single camera did you notice, or did they use the old fashioned multiple studio camera setup like the old days?

I missed it, but I've been told it was treated with the 'filmic' effect, and that is a mistake in my book. Yes, it's drama, and SOME drama looks better filmic, but this was a live performance for the sake of it being live, so I think it should have been left interlaced, which gives it that live feel. However, they could put the filmic effect on the repeat to highlight that it's not live, but a recording of a performance.

Single camera on a live production?

I don't see why not. I mean it would of been quite a change from standard practise to use multiple studio cameras would it not these days?
