It's been announced that the forthcoming 'M' series will be Stephen's last as host...

Stephen Fry steps down as QI host
Stephen Fry is to step down as the host of BBC Two comedy quiz show QI after 13 years.
<snip>
He will be replaced by Sandi Toksvig, who called it her "dream job". She stood down as chair of BBC Radio Four's The News Quiz earlier this year after a 10-year run.

Alan Davies will remain as resident panellist.

It's safe to say it will be difficult for Sandi to fill the big shoes, though that's partly due to their height difference. *cue tumbleweed* It'll be weird to see the show with a different host, though at least Sandi has made numerous appearances as a panellist in past series.

I always HAD doubt Stephen could or would do 26 years of the show, but its a Good half way point. Interesting fact, Jo brand and Jimmy Carr are the only two who have appeared in every series. Of course there no reason why Stephen couldn;t appear as a guest. Wink

I think the only other person bar Sandi Toksvig would have been bill bailey. Its a shame Barry Humphries never appeared more, he was dam good on it, and know alot of stuff.

I think Danny Baker would have been a (quite) interesting choice, as he is so different from Stephen but equally as excited by trivia.

Interesting, I don't remember Humphries ever appearing on QI, and I'm Australian!

Fry will be missed. I hope Sandi does well

I doubt there will be another 13 series. Probably another 10, 11 at most if they manage to find 16 episodes worth of Q-material. I imagine XYZ will be amalgamated into one series.

Sandi Toksvig ruins anything she is on. I can't watch the new Fifteen To One because of her awful presenting on it. I fear she will do the same to QI. Shame Stephen has left, but surely someone a lot better than Sandi could have been found.

Quite Interesting to see people, at least one respectable, digging for the reasons that Stephen is stepping down.

There's the usual clamour for reasons from onlookers, however when a senior radio executive asks publicly the question of a senior media hack, eyes are raised and the question is noted.
