TV Ark have updated their Channel section including clips of Puffin's Pla(i)ce and Channel Report.

Especially notable is the clip of Diary Dates. The opening titles actually say Daily Diary, can anyone shed any light on that?. Are those titles as old as they look? They look like they should be preceeded by the CTV ident with strange music

I can remember those Daily Diary Titles, i'm sure they're quite old! Infact if you watch the clip, there is a picture of all the islands in the background. It reminds me of the same picture which appeared on the 1997 Channel Report Titles. Could it be that old?

That's what I was thinking. And with them saying Daily Diary, I presume they used to do it daily. Perhaps at lunchtime when the regional news was at 12.20pm or as part of the 3pm slot before Kevin Pamplin came on the scene

The only time i can remember it on was the weekends at around the lunch hour. I don't ever remember it being on in the weekdays, but then again i never watch TV during the day on Weekdays.

That makes me think, as we are always consistantly worried that Kevin Pamplin doesn't do enough work, that's something he could present - Diary Dates!

With Channel News being short staffed with Murray Dron hosting, Is Richard Pallot still there, as he was the stand in host before?

This should make someone smile.

They are doing a charity auction for the Asia Appeal at work on Saturday. And one of the auctions is "Acting lessons with Kevin Pamplin" Twisted Evil

Another is a behind the scenes look at Puffins Pla(i)ce and a guest spot on it! I wonder how much it'll go for?

Today's shorter than usual show was a Pancake Day special with some special VT showing Oscar and the gang making pancakes.

There were some ads at 15:14 meaning the show actually finished with closing titles that were longer than the opening sting!

Anyone spot what happened just before Channel Report today? There was some sort of technical problem with opting out of the network feed and we got the news titles for Meridian before there was some interference and Channel came in with no sound for a short while... and during Puffin's Pla(i)ce Kevin told the director not to press the button for Meridian!

Do Channel still work off a 'dirty' feed from a Meridian transmitter, or are things done differently now?

It's still a "dirty" feed of Meridian, but it now goes under the sea in a fibre, rather than off the air from Rowridge.

The same fibre brings Channel's programmes back to London for uplink to the Astra bird.

Funny bit on Puffin's Pla(i)ce yesterday. They were talking about the Oscars and Kevin said jokingly that they have won award for being the best ITV regional children's programme. That being because they are the only ITV regional children's programme. He then went on to say that next year they will probably win the only children's programme on ITV!

Also they were seeing how many times the word "Oscar" would be mentioned on the show... probably lost count!
