There was a big revelation on today's Puffin's Pla(i)ce. Kevin mentioned that he doesn't come in on a Sunday, the show on Sundays is actually recorded!
I suspected this for a while, but now its confirmed!

That could not be the only big revelation!!

Reading on all the posts in other forums (the news room forum) is ITV finally catching up with Oscar??

Have you seen ITV are looking to extend the lunchtime news by an hour and have it presented by Nick Owen and Katie Derham..they are asking people how much local news should be included....

Meaning they are going to have a hour long lunchtime news with a longer local news so would that mean the 3pm slot? Is there another news in the daytime??? Would that mean CITV started at 3pm? In other words No slot for Oscar???? That would be such a sad thing!! Were would Oscar go?

They could of course opt out, they aren't ITV1 yet, so technically they have the power (like Tonight) to opt out whenever they want to!
I doubt they'd opt out of CiTV, but they could opt at at 2:30, have Channel Report, a fill in programme and Puffin's Pla(i)ce at 2:45, it's a bit early for leaving school, but play groups and nurseries should be ok.

I don't think they'd get rid of the news at 3pm, it's just that they'll most probably make it 5 minutes long or something, and begin CiTV at 3:10. But the little CiTV section usually does better than the main, especially as it starts before CBeebies.

Channel did ok tonight from what i saw, was a bit flat and werid in parts the sports guy just standing there while some other guy did some speaking and the room looked prity dull full of dj's and ball gowns, one may even say a prawn sandwich crowd and never played any sports apart from rowing and the odd spot of golf!

But back to Oscar the slot is shorter than before xmas i can not see channel doing anything at 2.30pm unless they gave oscar a half hour slot some money and production values but it all sounds too familiar it may be that Patrick Muirhead was right (about the death of local tv, his other stuff was way to harsh for a nobody) Im guessing kevin will let it be known very soon and have something to say im sure

thats if he knows?

It's shorter due to programmes in the afternoon not starting until 3-4 minutes past, so when Channel Reports has been on, it's around 7 minutes past. Where as before Christmas Channel Reports was starting bang on 3 or at 3:01.

If other regions are taking a 5 minute news bulletin at 3, then Channel may not and just use the time for Oscar and Puffin's Pla(i)ce, alternatively, they may not!

And surely if they wanted to, they could ask for the CiTV programmes and play them out theirselves with Puffin's Pla(i)ce links between.

For those that didn't see today's Puffin's Pla(i)ce, Kevin said that they things are happening and they would be moving, they don't know where though.

He did say that Puffin's Pla(i)ce won't be going anywhere (in the forms of axing it), but will in the schedule.

They're having a meeting today, and he said that he'll give more news on tomorrows show.

Just axe Channel Report and give Puffin the half hour slot! There sorted!

lol!

Well the news came to us on today's show and Puffin's Pla(i)ce will be staying, but moving to....

1:15pm!!!

A wierd time for a children's slot but one of the only ones that they could have I imagine.

Thinking about it, I imagine that this will be within the new hour long lunchtime news (that must be airing 12:30 - 1:30). They may do the Channel News summary and then cross over to Puffin's Pla(i)ce, though if it's handled like the news is at the moment, would that mean that Kevin will be handing back to the ITV News in London??

Alternatively they may be opting out of the end of the programme.

He also said that this is when the long talked about revamp of Puffin's Pla(i)ce will come into force.

I think he said it would be April 11th, though I could be mistaken.

1:15? Hardly a suitable slot in my opinion. Kids will still be at school or nursery or whatever, it will also no longer link with CiTV which will make it a bit of a loner in the schedule.

They should stick it on at 6.00 me thinks and have Channel Report follow it or the other way around. As fanoftv says if the regional news is done in the same format as currently that's going to be very odd indeed, having a Children's programme within a news programme doesn't sound appropriate at all.

I think they should have Channel Reports at 2.30 and then Puffin's Pla[i]ce at 2.45 or maybe we could have regional CiTV! Or network it!
