Apparantly they were taking part in a careers fair on Guernsey.

Today's show was different, it had a big drama in the middle of it, with Oscar Puffin being held to ransom by the Brownies.

Funniest bit was when Kevin said 'Isn't there usually a suspicious looking brown envelope at this point' and then Harry came on with a suspicious looking brown envelope. Kevin said, who's it addressed to? 'The cheery actor', that'll be me then'!. You could hear laughter off screen at this point!

What a silly thing to do regarding Patrick (I was rubbish at my job anway) muirhead...Why do such a thing? Even if there was problems regarding ctv what right does he have to come out and say it?

Why not, he's not under contract to them any more.... and it's a very small bridge to burn.

TBH I thought Channel came out of it OK, he wasn't really critical of the company as such ust pointing out that he wasn't right for regional TV (at least not on such a small scale

It was great, but just Kevin laughing after saying that Oscar is up for ransome (after watching the footage) wouldn't make him that good at Channel News, and as Patrick decribed him he is too cheery to do Channel News/Reports.

Personally though I wouldn't give those brownies any money after that, I always knew there was something eveil about them!

It was nice to have them back in their usual surrounding, even though the movement of the camera when they were looking for Oscar gave the show an odd angle, especially for the friday graphic.

I thought that Kevin looked wrong on the sofa, and if Kevin didn't, the show did. It's much nicer to have a big desk, I didn't even like the chair for the Christmas Show.

I'll hope that a new desk will be brought in on this well built up relaunch that has gone quiet again!

can you imagine (or even mock up, anyone? Razz ) a Puffin's Pla(i)ce title sequence in the ITV regional news style?

Haha, such a good idea, I had a quick go, what you think:

Tremendous and Amazing!

You should email it to Kevin & the team just so that they can have a laugh, it's very well made too!

Indeed I've only just downloaded that and it is very well made, well done.
To make it even better maybe you could attach an ident to the front of it, using the 2004 version but with the 2005 music.
You should definally send it in, knowing how Kevin likes his in-jokes about the internal politics of ITV, he'd definally like it!

Oh and a request, can you do a capture of the opening titles of Channel News (Not Channel Report). I like the way the music kind of jumps about 2 seconds in on the current version to match the length of the titles

Here we go, sorry the beginning is chopped off, everytime i go to get a capture of these titles they never seem to get their cues right!

As for sending it in, that was only a quick attempt. Making a broadcast quality attempt i'd have to start again and of course replace the graphics at the end to something better, preferably 3D, you really think i should bother?

I think they're better than the normal way they use the normal music, makes it sound a bit more serious IMO.

Thanks for that.
I think its actually the opening 2 seconds from the opening music which then cuts to what was the closing music before the relaunch. It's the same at the start and end now anyway.

The presenter there is David Lawrence, he oozes on screen presence doesn't he! Where've they dug him up from?

Is he co-presenting Channel Report now with Kristina Moore or have they got someone else?

Mr-Stabby
For the last couple of days Murray Dron the Report Sports presenter has been doing it. In my opinion he's really good! I think they should use a veteran presenter though, someone who people recognise.

Speaking of presenters i saw Jane Stuart a few days ago doing the news, shes been on Channel for as long as i can remember.

If you like the Channel Report theme, i've got the full version here:

There was a big revelation on today's Puffin's Pla(i)ce. Kevin mentioned that he doesn't come in on a Sunday, the show on Sundays is actually recorded!
I suspected this for a while, but now its confirmed!
