I tuned in to Puffin's show this afternoon on Channel and notice it now seems to have burst out of its regular time slot and is all over the schedule.
The first bit is at 3.05pm, then there's some adverts with another bit at about 3.13pm immediately before CITV.
Kevin pops up again at 5.04pm and then links into that famous kids show 'Bootsale Treasure Hunt'. Then finally there's a further section at 5.30pm just before 'I want that House'
Also around these junctions I noticed some CTV promos using the ITV1 generic house style, isn't it funny how CTV manage such a polished performance compared with the much bigger UTV who make a hash of it
When we went to Jersey in 1996, we managed to watch a bit of CTV and they use Puffin to do a lot of things, we also saw him to do an intro into a repeat of Coronation Street. Just a shame that he's the only ITV regional puppet left, no more BC, no more Gus etc etc.
Not true! Westcountry since they were taken over by Carlton have Captain Flotsam and Jetsam the Seagull who live in a lighthouse...
Yep, Carlton brought puppet format back after Westcountry ditched it in favour of just a human (at one time it was a woman reading cards from a tent - we went on to see the same woman in a sex education video at school).
Does anyone know if Kevin Pamplin does anything else on Channel besides his 10 minutes long Puffin slot, has he ever done normal announcing for example?
They should promote Kevin and the Puffin to link between 'Tellytots' shows on CITV!

He does some ads for the Channel ad break too. Usually dodgy low-budget ones [actually they all are] for sofas, being blown about by wind in his puffer jacket. And he usually does CTV's Record of the Year results too.
He's finishing half an hour earlier than usual in December at least, with this Christmas Show business. Puffins Plaice on a weekend is very entertaining as he just skims through the RT, criticising what's on, has a chat to Kim Fortune at the newsdesk [off camera], shouts to and fro with the director, and pads for ages when he runs out of birthdays to mention, all three of them. But it's a good little thing they have there.
Perhaps he'll be involved in their States elections in the spring. Wonder how much coverage Channel will devote to that.
Some funny moments from this week's Puffin's Pla(i)ce....
At 3.05pm during the closing moments of Channel News they faded up a weather caption by accident. So when Puffin's Pla(i)ce came on straight afterwards Kevin took the mick out of the vision mixer who was named and got him to fade the caption back up so he could do the weather
Then at 5.03pm he said 'So make sure you don't miss our christmas special, but something you should miss is this awful Christmas Show coming up now, thank god we've only got a week left of this rubbish' LOL!
WOW..can not belive puffins plaice has made it on here...i live in jersey, and grew up with puffins pla(i)ce..and god it used to be the biggest joke ever..such a crap birthday card filler..
But not now, i was so surprised when i got back from back packing round europe to see that its now something much different. From the opening montage to the grapics and music in the show and the effects and show content, you dont feel you are watching a regional filler. It seems to be all down to the shows front man who is alwaso the producer, and hats off to him for leading the way on channel for tv with your heart on your sleave. He is by far the best tv presenter they have had for years also kevin owen is very good, but typically he is under used, and they dont have anything for him so he is resigned to Puffin and those bad ads..which have got worse now it seems he dosent do them any more, at least he was watchable .
Any way i watched and i tell no lie..."the annual oscar puffin grand christmas special show"..genius...a full half an hour of xmas fun with kevin oscar and that hedgehog on the couch set of channel report..the whole thing was slick and great value for local children all around the islands, but something for every one...best one for me was in a piece oscar and kevin were out with a camera asking people if he could grant them a wish for xmas what would they like..well he also threw in some channel tv presenters, who seemed to get the joke and played along, apart from this one female news presenter who and i tell no lie..wished for osama bin larden to be caught and put behind bars....priceless kevin threw a way a funny line which i carnt remember but was very funny!
Any way all in all Im amazed he is still there cause channel dont use him for anything else and he should be for putting some pride into the stations only other thing they do apart from news, but im sure hw will be snapped up by the network soon..he should be he is up there with ant and dec
I watched Puffin's Pla(i)ce yesterday. Better than I expected - Oscar appeared more than I imagined, plenty of humour on two levels, good fun and infinitely more interesting than those two plasticine muppets on my local ITV region. It's clearly obvious that the whole set up is fun and good-humoured and the studio crew enjoyed being involved in Puffin's Pla(i)ce, which is what you need more of on TV.
I hope CTV doesn't axe Puffin's Pla(i)ce or introduce drastic changes, in fact, other regions should pay attention at how to make introducing programmes a bit more interesting, fun and spontaneous.
Bit of a question: When did Kevin start wearing glasses? When he has been on Record of the Year he wasn't wearing any.
