Some news regarding the new Puffin's Pla(i)ce website on today's show - it will launch next weekend... although with the show now being so short, (and viewers probably dwindling as a result of the time slot and shortness) is there really any point?

Also the web stream of the show disappeared shortly after they lost their lunchtime slot.

Perhaps they should do the show as part of Channel Report, that way they will be on at a time when most of the family are likely to be watching - or they could even take a leaf out of UTV's book and start the local news programme for an hour from 5:30 and put Puffin's Pla(i)ce in there somewhere.

Maybe the answer for Channel TV is to have the Puffin take over CITV completely (while it's still around). IE replace the continuity completely with the Puffin.

Not sure how much time this would allow (haven't watched CITV in several years now) but it could work well.

We visited the Islands about ten years ago and from what I remember, though Puffin et al didn't do any links on CITV, they did the continuity links in the afternoons during the School holidays, I seem to recall it also being used into a repeat of Coronation Street, which seemed strange to a lad who was used to Granada continuity.

I'm personally surprised on how the Puffin has lasted so long, with the amount of cutbacks to CITV and the endless shifting, extensions and cuts to the ITV News.

Another thing about today's show... we got a "behind the scenes" look at how the show is prepared... and I know a lot of TV studios are smaller in real life than they are when watching a programme (thanks to wide angle lenses) but judging by the behind the scenes footage on today's show the Puffin's Pla(i)ce studio is tiny!

By the way, the behind the scenes look at Puffin's Pla(i)ce can be found here/here...

(I think Sam loves himself a bit too much!)

Also there was news on today's show that they're moving back to their igloo in the North Pole.... about time too, not really suitable beach weather in November - although the temperatures have been fairly mild some days!

Back to the igloo, and then santa flying in the background soon. They didn't even have a tree last year did they? Wouldn't the wall look better being a darker blue for Christmas, or is that just my thinking?

I hate to say this, but I've lost interest in Puffin since Kevin left, I tried watching but it's not the same.
