Now if you remember one of the reasons why Puffin's Pla(i)ce became popular on TV Forum was because, back a few years ago there was that regional slot before CITV where many regions did different things, besides Border nobody else did a children's birthday slot. Then of course ITV bosses kept changing the slot, moving it, making it smaller, making it longer, when the ITV News Summary was extended Kevin's slot would change at the last minute. This lead to Kevin frequently launching into presentational rants that were of interest on here. He also had a slot at 5pm/5.30pm that used to come and go depending on the schedules, this was also of interest.

Plus there would be chats about the newsreader in the preceeding Channel News bulletin (remember the Patrick Muirhead situation!) and also comments about CITV and their changing presenters and styles. Since they moved to lunchtime most of this type of stuff had gone.

Remember we used to suggest Kevin doubled up as a Channel announcer, rather than just taking ITV1 presentation. We also suggested he should be the new CITV presenter. Neither happened though!

It'll be interesting where he appears next. Probably presenting Quizmania or The Great Big British Quiz!

Um, I'm Irish, but living in NY, so I don't really know what the show is for, but I saw the stream today and it seemed entertaining. Well, I wish the best of luck to kevin.

It's a shame that these things come to an end. Back in the better studio (in my opinion), back when Kevin could sit down (even though he may not have wanted to), back when it was the big mic, so there was less scratching of the clothes on the current radio mics, back when a certain green on a birthday card would bring 'Monday' shining through.

Ah, the memories. It's a shame that Kevin's leaving, Sam seems ok, I'm sure he will do it justice, but it'll still take some beating to replace Kev.

If you are reading this Mr Pamplin, good luck to everything that you do in the future, and even if you do end up on quizmania, it will be great to see you for 2 hours, as opposed to 15 minutes! And if you have a choice, choose Quizmania as it's the most entertaining, and then you can work with Flash!
Alternatively, take your powers to ITV and get them to give CITV some proper identity that seems to have been lost!
