If you only watch one episode of Psychoville, make it this weeks (episode 4). Indeed, if you only watch half an hour of TV all year, make it this weeks episode of Psychoville.
Absolutely brilliant stuff - all done in one single take, excellently written and not only funny, but moving at times too. And we've got the credit crunch and Albert Hitchcock to thank - basically they wanted a cheap 7th episode to up the budget of the remaining six, so that's why it's all set in one room with just three actors.

Even if you haven't been following the series, this episode works superbly as a one-off piece of comedy. Simply brilliant.

Tonight's was the only one I've seen so far and it was rather good, it hadn't occurred to me that there was anything different or special about it. Might have to watch it again now , knowing the background to it

Ditto.
I haven't had a chance to see the catch up yet, so I dipped in.
One take, really?
I'll rather enjoy seeing this one again.

Isn't it two? There is a break when Mark Gatiss's character goes to the toilet and they get the dead body goes in the trunk - the lid of the trunk covers the entire screen, which would make for a natural breaking point. Would make sense since I've read elsewhere it's been done in two takes as well.
Still mightily impressive though

That's a great clip there. I was mulling over this "one take" thing earlier, and had almost persuaded myself that its really just like a bit of live theatre.
Once you see the "ballet" of scenery shifting and dolly/boom co-ordination its totally elevated my appreciation.
Oooh, I'm so impressed I could do a strangle.
Where can I see LOG series 3, please? I remember being completely smitten by the complexity of the whole series done in separate POVs, which tied beautifully together in the finale.

Well they're claiming on the website it was all done in one take, and show some behind the scenes stuff of what happens when the camera zooms in on certain areas (mainly moving the sofa out of the way).

I think this programme is brilliant - great line-up of actors and quirky-original. However, one thing about it really gets my goat - the place names! Salford and Manchester are two distinct cities; Salford is not IN Manchester, nor is Bristol in the now-defunct administrative county of Avon which was abolished in 1996!

The cover shot they used for Wood Green last week appeared to actually be Camberwell (about 10 miles across London), but I didn't let it spoil my enjoyment of the show!

When the BEEB broadcast stuff like this. It almost makes it worth paying the license fee.
I'm really enjoying this.

Over the credits the BBC Two ( Scotland ) announcer said to press the red button to see the final episode on BBCi - but it was not there. ( Taking the Flak was the only prog listed ).
Phoned BBC Complaints who said there had been a few calls about his but weren't sure if it was a technical problem or just a mistake...

Same thing happened in England. I was most miffed after that announcer who sounds like she's about to peg it said it was available.
