This was absolutely fantastic, creepy with the odd humor that reminds me how good the league of gentlemen was. It's possibly something that will take 2 or 3 episodes to develop, but its nice to see Dawn French and the League lot back on our screens!

It's deffo watch it BBC 2 FRIDAY I'll be tuning in:)

Did anyone else watch it?

Your spelling was creepy enough... have to agree with you though, looks like a grower.

Thursdays, not Friday.

I wasn't sure about the first episode at all, but I agree it is probably a grower as the first episode was pretty much setting things up. The second was actually shown on BBCi afterwards - don't know if this will be a regular thing each week.

I thought it was brilliant, especially the blind man character Very Happy

Definitely must-see TV!

Having been a big fan of The League Of Gentlemen, I was totally expecting Psychoville to be a disappointment, but I actually very much enjoyed it.

I particularly liked the son who was a little too interested in murder, and the Oedipal relationship with his mother. I was a bit sceptical as to whether Dawn French would suit a programme like this, but I actually think her character was fabulous as well.

For my tastes, comedy recently has gone a bit too nicey-nice. Whilst I find Gavin And Stacey reasonably funny, I do think it's a little over-rated, and creeps into that slightly nauseating TV territory of being 'heart-warming'.

I get the feeling that Psychoville will develop well over the weeks, and it's great to have something a bit sick and twisted on telly again. Very Happy

Pemberton and Shearsmith can do no wrong in my book, well apart from the LOG film, which was weaker than the series.

Wasn't sure after the first episode but it's quickly become must see TV - not just funny, but with a great story running through it too.

Dawn French is great in these sort of roles too - used to love her in Murder Most Horrid.

Sort of missed the boat here.

Should I wait and watch from the start, or can I pick it up?

That said, I only watched LOG from the third series, then went backwards with it.

Watch it from the start! It's well worth it.

I thought last night's episode was outstanding. Some parts were very funny, others downright weird, dark and disturbing, and some even quite touching and sad. Plus the whole thing was just beautifully made.

Completely brilliant, innovative, unique television, and without wanting to take this thread off-topic, commercial television wouldn't have touched anything like this with a sh*tty stick. It's programming like this which makes me realise how valuable a publicly funded BBC is... and this is exactly the kind of thing the BBC should be making.

It's series catch up on iPlayer, and would work better from the start.
