I have just watched this programme tonight and I thought it was very good, and had a good vibe to the programme, it was very good Sunday night viewing.

But can anyone help me here? I wasn't paying attention for some of it, but when, where and why Mike had gone back to being a beggar? As I am confused as I wasn't paying atttention. Embarassed

Though the feeling to the ending was very odd, lively music being played when Mike had just died. But well done ITV and weirdly Thames TV for a superb piece of Drama.

He didn't actually go BACK to being a beggar. The whole programme was a dream. The scene at the end was the truth.

Nice to see quality drama values from ITV, with the programme made, of course, by Thames.

Ah right, Thanks for that Nick, I understand now, I would have watched it but the good ol' computer was playing up.

Very Dallas of them.

Indeed. This was good old ITV at its very best at Christmas. I hope this is the start of a trend away from the Cold Feet/Upwardly Mobile Young Twenty/Thirty-something/Robson-Jerome or David Jason or Ross/Steve Kemp vehicle dramas of recent years.

A refreshing change ... I got quite tearful over the ending though... Crying or Very sad

Nice to see new Poirots too. Missed the recent one(s) though... double Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

I thought it was crap! I know it sounds plain, but they ended it making the whole other two bits of the stroy pointless, I wanted a bog standard happy ending, not "I woke up and it was all a dream" (or similar) nice to see ITV also managied to slaot a sex scene into the drama. Nice.
