No - Animal Hospital theme was written by Ron de Jong - husband of Lorraine Heggessey... (Who was Exec Producer of Animal Hospital at the time...)

Don't think Knots Landing and The Upper Hand were identical. They were similar - but I don't think they were the same.

Apparently quite a few US stations use the same music packages for their news as some ITV regional news operations did until the ITV News branding was rolled out.

I think that the Meridian Tonight music was used quite widely.

The Grange Hill theme tune (the one used since the 90's) always reminds me of Cagney and Lacey.

The original Grange Hill theme tune (by Alan Hawkshaw) was also used (albeit with a totally different musical arrangement) for an early series of Give Us a Clue!

The 2004-2006 theme tune to ITV News was used on a programme called VI News (Vancouver Island) and the 1999-2004 theme tune was used on some US Radio stations to introduce the News, if anyone wants a clip of the VI News, then I don't mind uploading it.

The Tarrant On TV seems to pop up everywhere, it's even used in the Speed 3 episode of Father Ted.

The Channel M News theme tune is the same one used on some CHUM Owned Local TV Stations in Canada.

The Channel 4 News theme tune was used in a Clint Eastwood film called Pale Rider.

The Chris Evans Breakfast Show (his Virgin Radio show that was simulcast in vision on Sky One for a while) used the ATV fanfare.

Not quite theme re-use, but a different version of the old Channel Report music (Channel TV's main news programme) once made an appearance on Goodness Gracious Me as the theme to a cookery show in a sketch.

Again, same sort of thing, I'm certain that the 1983 ITN Election Theme (available to download from the TV-am section of TV Ark) was used in an episode of The Simpsons, where Bart gets a 'Bigger Brother'.
