If my RT is correct, The Rockford Files is on both BBC2 and ITV1 this afternoon!

Morecambe and wise is slightly diffrent as the stars switched channels but the programme was diffrent. The shows they did for ATV were diffrent to the BBC shows which in turn were diffrent to the Thames shows. Although the latter was mainly due to the fact that their writer (Eddie Braben) wasn't able to leave the BBC.

Have to disagree slightly here - a couple of Christmases ago when five showed an old Thames M&W Christmas show there were a number of sketches that were the same material just with different guest stars as the one shows on Christmas morning on BBC1.

It's a similar case to Tony Hancock who went from the BBC to ITV and Kenny Everett who did the reverse. The stars went, but the programmes weren't the same

Kenny Everett has to be rare example here, that his ITV shows, were better than his BBC shows, as there's a DVD Compilation (of 2 previously released Thames Videos) out available, they were still shown on Granada Plus, when it was on air, where as his BBC shows seem to have disappeared into thin air and have yet had little or no repeats in recent years, and I believe there might have been a VHS release.

I can think of a few American Imports that have switched....

Murder She Wrote....ITV to BBC1
Quincy......BBC1 to ITV
Kojak.....BBC and ITV
Happy Days.....ITV, TV-am, Channel 4, Sky One, Paramount
Curb Your Enthusiasm....it was on BBC4 first, then E4 for a brief period then More4
Seinfeld....BBC2, Sky One, Paramount, in Ireland it has changed from TV3 to RTÉ2 AIUI.

There has to be a few kids programmes which have switched around - sometimes with a change of name.

One unlikely example - Naked Jungle (Five) > Jungle Run (CITV)

Also, CITV had a show which was basically the same as C4's "Wise Up" - made by the same production team I think, just with a new name.

QI doesnt count because it is like Desperate Housewives - premieres on BBC4 with repeat on BBC2.

Quite an interesting topic this - although I dont think the chopping and changing re BBC1/2 HIGNFY etc counts - for a program to completely change channel it must go to a completely different company.

Blockbusters with Bob Holness jumped from ITV to Sky One in 1993.
Buffy The Vampire Slayer: The WB to UPN (which ironically are now one network - the CW)

An obscure one...

A Word In Your Ear, which was for two series in 1990/91 a regional gameshow made by and shown on Tyne Tees, then moved over for a few series with the same presenter (Gordon Burns) and music IIRC on the BBC.

Naked Jungle was actually made inbetween series 1 and series 2 of Jungle Run and, yes, it did use the exact same set at Granada TV in Manchester

Scooby Doo, although an import, does have a chequered history of changing channels - first started on ITV stations, then moved to BBC then moved to ITV Network, then Cartoon Network (new episodes only and not counting repeats)

The Flintstones - started on ITV stations, then moved to BBC and more recently repeated first ever series on ITV again.
