You are right and that would never have happened if we all still had local presentation and announcers..............itv/stv what a shambles of a station!!

What was messy about it? They covered up the breakdown with some slides and some music and then went to a standby programme.

He did not even know the name of the show they lost, and they could have done with a breakdown caption.

Is there anything you don't like about that shoddy excuse for a Television network?

Oh dear it's one of those threads is it

At one time this was a presentation forum where breakdowns were seen as an interesting highlight. Now they are there just so it can be used as an excuse to launch into yet another rant about how poor the channel in question is

Ok then I'll join in, let's hope that the announcer and all transmission staff are all sacked immediately and never work again

It was the first breakdown for the network, that I have seen, since the withdrawal of regional CA's. To be honest I did feel that it was handled well. How different would the regional CA's have handled it or are we now looking through rose-tinted spectacles when looking back at "The Good Old Days"

But can we have better music than the usual "You are on hold" or Lift music!!! ?

I actually caught this today too. The Youtube video doesn't do the breakdown justice, it was nearly twice as long as that! You can't really call it messy though, aside from the announcer getting tongue-tied at the end, it was quite well-handled. I mean, compare it to the E4 breakdowns we've seen recently for example, where you're sat watching black and wondering if you're ever going to see a programme. At least we were kept informed. Anyone got a full capture?

The poster was making an observation of 'what a mess' it all was. That comment could have been made for any channel. Then you come along all guns blazing defending precious ITV.

Come on, it was a fair enough comment.
