Here's a good one for BBC ONE. They could have the announcer in the basket of the balloon and zoom in on them when they speak. E.g. Harold bishop in the basket at the start of neighbours. (just a thought). Obviously they could only do this with prerecorded idents.

The only time ive known the BBC Balloon to fly live on an ident was at the start of BBC LOOK EAST when it was the northampton balloon festival. It was surrounded by 70 other funny shaped balloons and looked impressive.

Has anyone noticed that on UK Style they use pre recorded idents as each day the same programe was introduced identically for weeks!

Thats what I dont like about Channel 5 they are too unprofessional for my liking , for example idents with news presenters acting all layed back and others with Monika Lewinsky lookalikes in them how naff?

Yes, they seem to have made their graphics serious, but left us with naff idents.

Yep you are right, they are all done from Leeds.
And Granada gets more namechecks than its co-stations, i/e they say Granada more often.
You will occasionally hear people introduce shows with the Granada tag probably because there has just been, or will be a shortly a regional programme specific to the Granada region.
And anyway, Granada continuity before the switch to Leeds, when it was done from Manchester was dreadful.

Why are the continuity announcements for Granada and Tyne Tees also made from Leeds?? I can only presume they have better technical facilities. I think it is sad that a Manchester based TV station has to broadcast programme announcements over the Pennines, from Leeds. Granada have lost their ' regional ' identity - something that The Bersteins who started the company in the fifties would, I'm sure, be unhappy about ! Ah well, that's progress! Do any other ITV stations have announcers broadcasting away from their original base?

An unusual annoucement was heard on YTV tonight at 5.05pm:
'Tonight on Border, Emmerdale at 7, and High
Road at 7.30, but now we take a trip to Shortland Street'

This annoucement was totally wrong, as YTV don't get High Road or Shortland Street, and it was even wrong for Border, as it was the 5.30 annoucement, everyone takes Crossroads at 5.05!!

Also, tonight's male annoucer is being drowned out by the music tonight, He's talking too quietly at 5.05/5.30/5.55 and 6.30.
