TVC has an ongoing rodent problem. Apparently it's quite bad in the newsroom because journos keep on removing the traps, thinking they're cruel.

Maybe reintroducing studio cats would be a good idea...

Has no-one considered humane traps? They're just as effective, and mousey doesn't get killed.

Perhaps Channel 5 should consider employing a cat to anchor their news. It would certainly have much more authority than Ms. Kaplinsky.

I demand British broadcasters introduce studio cats. I think a Sky Newscat in particular could work well - the volume of meow could indicate severity of breaking news.


Emma Jesson once did a forecast holding a small dog in the crook of her arm. It was Bring You Dog To Work Day, so Steve Clamp did just that. It all goes on in the East Midlands.
