Product Placement on UK TV?

I think it's an ok idea as long as they don't use blatant product placement. I.e. putting a coke can closer to the camera than the actors or something along those lines.

It would make certain TV programmes more realistic. I hate seeing generic COLA labels on cans in TV programmes.

There has been product placement on TV for years though. An example I can think of is in Red Dwarf. They constantly talk about "Pot Noodles" in that. In one episode they even open one, started eating it and were making pretty orgasmic noises. If that's not a commercial, what is Laughing

In truth there has been alot of product placement in some shows this week - all related to Comic Relief.

In Hollyoaks an entire storyline has been created around Comic Relief, while in Shameless it was incorporated into the main storyline of the last episode - with a sponsored head shaving to prevent Carl being identified.

However remember he also said "I've seen time running backwards, I've played pool with planets and I've given birth to twins, but I never though in my entire life I'd taste and edible Pot Noodle".... not the BEST advert!
