Hi,
Could someone please tell me if you could or can still see the blue screen on ITV 1 saying We apologise for the break in our programmes, We will them back for you as soon as we can
It's fine here in London. If it's a white writing on blue background caption, then this is being generated by your transmitter, and is due to a loss of the ITV feed to the transmitter.

Yes, that's right... Although I think these days it would say ITV instead of INDEPENDENT TELEVISION and the wording on the caption is slightly different.
I can't seem to find an up to date one - there used to be one at The TV Room, but its gone!
GMTV Journalist, I think the reason why its still working on Freeview is because transmitters have backup facilites for Digital Terrestrial, so they would be able to continue normally.
The pedant in me is forced to say that GMTV probably wouldn't show an ITV slide if they went down as they aren't part of ITV, they're a completely seperate franchise.

There is nothing on normal tv ITV WALES can't see GMTV now
The Freeview and DTT transmitters are fed via entirely different systems - there is no reason for the Freeview feed to disappear just because the analogue one has.
(ITV aren't technically members of the Freeview consortium - ISTR that some of the TopUp TV channels are broadcast on the ITV/C4 mux )
