This 'game-show' looks very interesting and different. I am looking forward to it, it reminds me of a very short lived ITV game show, 'Interceptor'.

I admire your optimism.

This new prized apart programme is as good as the advertising I've seen for it!!! Hate the canned audience. The fact that they haven't shown any inclination of an audience in the 'hanger' is a major sign given the production and camera anglea of programmes like this when there is an audience.

They have just shown an audience.

I enjoyed most of the show but did wonder how it was filmed. They must have had to have filmed one a week, with the planes to and from it must be a costly production.

It really was underwhelming. The adventure game show part didn't really work, and even if it did the last 20 minutes spent on an overlong quiz to decide the eliminee really was a struggle to get through. Ultimately too it was also a struggle to care as you just didn't get to know the contestants at all.

I totally agree with that. It did seem dragged out with the quiz part.
Interesting idea, though bar being a gimmick I don't understand why they're abroad, and/or why they have to fly back. Couldn't they have constructed the walkway on the O.B. and have a satellite link up?

It was completely pointless and actually rewards the loses with some brief contact with their partnet.

I can see the show (and BBC) coming in for criticism for it's high carbon footprint, due to flying three contestants back each week only to have to fly two of them back out again. I'd agree that a satellite link-up for to the three losing contestants would have probably worked just as well. I felt that the episode at 1hr 5mins long was rather padded out in places and could have been compressed into 45 minutes. I can't help wondering how much the whole production cost, considering there is a £100K prize as well the weekly flights. Incidentally it's currently being repeated on BBC One, which going off topic makes me slightly wonder why the BBC haven't done this in the past with other pre-watershed Sat night shows.

(Edited to correct programme length.)

ITV have done it for years - repeating their Saturday night shows at lunchtime the next day. I find it tends to be good hangover TV (in an age where "hangover TV" doesn't really exist anymore, like T4).

I saw the trailers for this programme, and it only confirmed that my decision was correct not to watch any offering from the main broadcasters since the last century on Saturday nights.

According to my listings the running time was 1hr 5 mins.
