I chose to watch this tonight instead of eurovision and I am glad I did. Just shows that ITV can do good all round entertainment. I thought the show was well thought out and the mix of music and comedy was good. It was very like Children in Need or Comic Relief but was better in the fact we didn't have 'Help this charity because' videos shoved at us every 5 minutes and having the celebrities answering the phones made the pledging thing more interesting- very ITV telethon.

The most disturbing scene of the evening Patrick Kiltey snogging Johnny Vagas full on!! Not a good image left in my head.
And bound to be complaints that at 8.15pm we had swearing on national TV from Prince William of all people! Can't believe it wasn't bleeped.

I too chose this over Eurovision tonight, and I must say I was very impressed!

Despite usually being one of ITV's biggest critics, I thoroughly commend them for a night of great all-round entertainment. The music was as good as you could expect, and the rest was a well-planned mix of comedy, games, and of course the excerpts from that infamous interview. Even the "celeb" factor was tasteful - not the typical ITV sleaze, but just a fun input in the form of a celebrity call centre (and not even TOO bad a list of personalities).

As previously mentioned, it was almost like a throwback to the ITV Telethon days - Certainly much more enjoyable and original than the Comic Reliefs and Children In Needs of recent years, which are fast becoming tiresome.

See ITV - you CAN still pull it off when you want to!

It was funny seeing Chico and Dame Edna ending up together on the Blind Date bit, especially as Chico apparantly doesn't know who "she" is!

Also, I liked the appearance from Guy Goma in the celebrity call centre, where is he going to appear next!

And about the swearing, you can hardly complain when it was Prince William doing the swearing!

Watching the repeat of The Prince of Wales: Close Up documentary... its worth watching just to see Sir Trevor laugh out loud a lot - did someone put itching powder in his trousers? Laughing

Who was that "Mavis" lady supposed to be? She looked more like the character Maureen Lipman played in the early British Telecom adverts! Apparently they claimed she was "Global President of BT" - but I can't find any information on a "Mavis" working for BT! She sounded more like the woman they have doing the announcements on BT!
