Of course they do. It's on ITV so it'll be rubbish, so I'll watch the first 10 mins and decide why it'll be rubbish. People also forget that it was made by an indie and therefore ITV doesn't have anything to do with a minor part of the plot
Outside of internet forums where people aren't wannabe Ian Hylands, I expect the ratings will be good
I resent that! I just thought the programme was a bit rubbish i have no desire to be an Ian Hyland wannabe. He has a point about its target audience though. For those of you who haven't read his column today he says its target audience at 8pm are either in bed or sniffing glue ( kids eh!)
Nor do i rubbish ITV willy nilly. I endured pretty much the whole thing before i cast my opinion. And as there is nothing else on at 4.30 this afternoon i'll watch it again. Only because it's a good rib tickler.
EDIT ( Again)
Mr Hellfire is watching and his verdict so far is.... Hahahahahahahahaha * breathes* hahahahahah.... " they did that on a budget of a tenner and still had change for a packet of fags" Hehehehe... Zzzzzzzz Grunts Zzzzzzz.

Anyways, i have to admit i really liked this, and have series linked it. I find it quite funny that people in this thread (and on other forums) saying they laughed at how bad it was. People who say that, to me go in with the mindset of WANTING it to be crap because it was on ITV. If this was on BBC1, i'm sure it would have been a lot different.

Give it a rest will you. You're coming across as if there's a whole nationwide conspiracy against ITV, when in reality you're making a mountain out of the usual non-existant molehill.

You can guarantee that had it been the other way round, new drama on BBC1 and tired repeat on ITV, the ratings wouldn't have been the same

Im currently watching the repeat and am pleasantly surprised at this programme.
From some of the comments already posted I thought it was going to be another ITV-turkey but I have thoroughly enjoyed this.
Im not sure whether the Saturday night timeslot is totally suitable for the programme but it's great Sunday afternoon viewing!

Well I did enjoy that episode.
I can't believe the amount of publicity this programme got with direct comparisons to Dr Who.
There was a very little bit of Dr Who mixed with Jurassic Park and The Eleventh Hour.
Impressive!

You're spot on there - though of course a couple of days later all good work is undone by the return of bloody Supermarket Sweep!
It's not my type of thing so I didn't watch - but it is good to see the ITV drama department commissioning something different to yet another detective show or psychological thriller.
Personally I'm unconvinced full stop that drama works on Saturday nights. I know for many this completes ITV's Saturday line up, but my argument would be that Saturday night was pretty damn good without it - and perhaps it should have been used to bulk up another day in the schedule.
It's all about inheritance though nowadays - schedulers target viewers to stay around after a big rating programme to watch something like this, rather than tune into the channel specifically for the programme.
Personally I think Priveval would fit neatly into the Friday schedule at 8.30pm, perhaps paired with a US series such as Supernatural at 9.30pm.

You know some of you are never pleased. You complain because ITV never take risks, so they take one and you complain even more!
I thought it was really good, and a different type of show to what they normally show, and if they carry on making good productions like they have over the past few weeks or so, then they are definitely moving in the right direction.
