A few people on Digital Spy said they saw a few episodes and that it was awful

what an unusual opinion. Digital Spy members are usually so positive about ITV Laughing

There was a mistake on the promo just now - VO said "after Dancing On Ice" but the onscreen time said 7.00pm.

Torchwood meets Jurassic Park for me.

Take it it's a coincidence a hi-fi playing the Kaiser Chiefs was destroyed a few days after they played a gig for a BBC station. Razz

Sat down to watch Primeval, and for the first fifteen minutes it looked promising - spooky injuries and attacks, and the tiny little dinosaur thing. I noted however that in some places, this appears to be a carbon-copy of Torchwood. Some of the scenes even look exactly the same.

Oh yes, and the terrible cliché after the ad break put me off. Why does there always have to be an immediate love interest?

That's put me off the entire series. Well done ITV, nice one... Rolling Eyes

I like it, its got a range of characters and has a very good plot. Find it a bit daft that the boys Mother told him to clean the mess up in his bedroom. ITV really is making out this country to be thick if there saying a woman carn't work out a boy didnt smash his wall down.

(Predictably) UTV are showing it in the wrong aspect ratio on analogue at least. 16:9 in a 4:3 frame.

On first impression, it certainly looks a lot glossier than Doctor Who, I reluctantly admit..

Brilliant! It's so bad it's hilarious.

When i wasn't laughing i was cringing with embarrassement for the actors and puppet master.

I was going to watch this but my instinct got the better and I thought I'd give it go tomorrow instead. After that comment I don't think I bother!

I thought it was really good. Took about 15 minutes for me to get into it but I like the characters. I will definately watch this again next week.

Well done to ITV for being brave and showing something different on a Saturday night. I hope the ratings reflect this.

Err, really? Are you sure UTV didn't accidentally play out Jurassic Park? Wink The CGI was reasonable, but I wouldn't call it glossy, and the rest of the production left a fair bit to be desired, for me.

Sorry, had to laugh at that. The picture quality wasn't truly awful, but something was wrong with it. It looked too soft and blurry in places. Google'in about here and there suggests Primeval was shot on 16mm, whereas Doctor Who is shot on Digibeta, and to me Doctor Who looks the better product! The CG was dodgy in places, some of it reminded me of the classic Doctor Who episode "Invasion of the Dinosaurs", only with slightly more realistic movement.

Obviously this programme contracted "ITV-itis" during its production.
