Bidup on both Channels 23 and 24 on Freeview, meanwhile on Sky, bid up is broadcasting normally and Price Drop has appeared as well...

How very odd...

Haven't heard any explanation from the presenters - they've probably been doing their slots all the time even though the channnels have been off air!

(EDIT: Screenshop on Sky channel 662 is still showing the white on black apology caption)

Er...dont you think they'd have been a bit peturbed by no-one ringing in with bids / web bidders only??

More likely that they will have had to of been in ready to present incase they fixed the problem. Meaning they will have been paid to do nothing.

Why would they do that? everyone involved would be quite aware that they are off-air, because all they are broadcasting is an apology slide!

My guess is power problems if both the channels are off air.

Not necessarily, they both come from adjacent studios with the same infrastructure, same computer systems..... could be anything. Perhaps someone triggered off the fire alarm or the estate they are on got evacuated

Also unlike other TV stations it's not just a failure of the TV system that takes them off air - if the systems that does the auctions and takes the calls goes down then they have to close down
