Watching this now. It's not great.

You can tell it's been done on the cheap. These prizes are dreadful. They've just shown a colour changing alarm clock which I'm sure I've seen in my local Pound Shop.

The set is also very empty and garish. The theme tune is very non-descript. And Alan can't really get his humour in with the format which as a consequence makes him seem very wooden.

Overall I'm fairly confident already The Price is Right's future is not with Channel 4.

Are you really judging the programme based on the first 9 minutes?! God, at least wait until you’ve watched the whole thing!

I'm more wondering why Channel 4 are doing it anyway, they are supposed to be alternative, far too much of the schedule has programmes that could air on BBC One or ITV without a second glance.

It seems odd hearing Alan Carr playing it straight saying "Now are the batteries higher or lower than the lemon washing up liquid" without making a gag slagging the premise off afterwards.

I think they think the naffness is ironic and therefore edgy. It was always done with a knowing wink though wasn't it?

An interview here in which he mentions he'd like to host Blankety Blank. Didn't ITV commission a full series after the David Walliams pilot last Christmas?

The VO sounds like Tony Hirst who was in Corrie and Hollyoaks and who also does the VO for How It's Made.

I'm catching up on +1, and so far, I'm actually quite liking it. Studio seems to be on the small side and a bit sparse imo.

No it wasn’t picked up with David in the end.
