The prizes in Bruce's version were horrendous. I remember a CD player and radio in the style of an original 1920s wireless radio complete with wood laminate. I still have nightmares about that.

Lucky you, I had a nightmare my exes cat was on fire internally for several hours last night. Luckily it turned out to be the wrong cat. Still feel sorry for the cat involved though.

Ah but might be worth something now since retro's very in at the moment, though strictly speaking something like that isn't a true retro item, it just probably looks it which isn't the same thing as, say, a valve radio for example.

I hadn't seen it before now but point taken, that's bloody horrible. Shocked Scrapman wouldn't be seen dead with that!

I'm not sure how can say that say what the prizes are like now when it hasn't been on for a decade.

Suspect they'll be a bit of novelty and nostalgia value in them in the early rounds (i.e. they'll take the piss!). The Showcase will probably be worth it though.

At least it's not 8 out of 10 Cats Does Price is Right though - although I could see Jon Richardson as the human cliffhanger!

I still think with the right producer and director behind it, he could do a very good job at hosting the Gen Game revival.
Find the right straight female co-host (and not some cheap throwaway visual gag 'chest oiled beefcake') which would help dilute the camp humour for a more broader mainstream appeal and hold back on the grinning, the gurning, and just, well grow up a bit, and it could run for a few series.

I'm still of the opinion that if Gen Game was ever revived, Bradley Walsh or Shane Ritchie would be perfect for it. If Michael Barrymore was still on telly, it would have been a great vehicle for him too!

Barrymore is planning his TV comeback in a sitcom:

Don't know which network it's for but hopefully it'll lead to new avenues. Be nice to have him back on TV in one form or another after everything that's happened.
