Its keeping Peter Dickson well employed who gets to be the voice on 2 channels at the same time. And theres also work for another voice over legend "our Graham" from Blind Date fame who I think voices the Asda trailers.

Indeed, I'm surprised how large the budget is, considering it is now a daytime gameshow, the showcase is still decently sized. £20.000 worth of stuff everyday, in addition to the stuff won in the individual games
It's much bigger than the Catchphrase and Family Fortunes daytime versions were

I thought it was ok, the budget is obviously going to be lower than the Brucie version, they are after all making something like 150 of these progammes. For a daytime gameshow it's budget is on a par with most other programmes, if not better.

Not even impressed with the effort that ITV had put into this show. Something which I can expect from a dodgy channel.
The choice of the presenter is awful. Joe - I mean come on. He's like helium, but it can crack a better joke and he can't stop speaking. His just a chatterbox. Irritating.
With Bruce, he tries to interact with the audience and has a great chemistry.
The audience looks like they have been picked up from the streets and just cheer for the sake of it. I mean - Why do they even bother to appear on the show.
The set and the choice of colours are also awful. I mean bright red - come on....
. It looks like something from those annoying Quiz Channels or something along the lines.
The shows reputation has far been ruined and wouldn't be suprised for it to end. It will take a slight tweak for me to have another go on watching it. But as for now, it looks like a no-no.

And in the original American show it was the announcer that said 'come on down' but when it came to ITV originally William G Stewart, the producer, got Leslie to say it instead.

I think they should move citv to 3.45-5.15 or 4.00-5.30.It's not competing with cbbc at the moment and they must have finished the 12000th repeat run of Grizzly Tales now!

Holidays and cars given away on gameshows are usually offered very cheap or even free to TV companies in exchange for a name-check.

I think the show great,

Cliffhanger was one of the games featured yesterday. That game used to scare me as a child in the Leslie Crowther days, especially when the man fell off the edge of the mountain.
Interesting to note this version of TPIR appears to filmed at Quay Street in Manchester/3sixtymedia... is this the only ITV quiz show to be shot at four different studios? (The Central version at Lenton Lane, Nottingham; the YTV version at Kirkstall Road, the Ant & Dec version at either the London Studios or TVC, and the Joe version at Quay Street). I'd have thought given that the wheel and other props were kept over from the Brucie version that they didn't record the series at Kirkstall Road - or were they too busy filming Bullseye to have room to accomodate TPIR?

Never forget the stories of the coach parties that came to Lenton Lane from all over the country. Many travelling hours drinking cans of beer and bottles of vodka. And then William G Stewart whipping them up into a frenzy followed by the ultimate climax of singing Land and Hope Of Glory and then immediately rolling the titles.
